The Look and See Approach Must Die So You Can Live

A year ago I would never try to be outgoing…
A year ago I would never try to share my story…
A year ago I would never try to contribute to any community…
A year ago I would never try to speak out

I never felt I was worthy enough…
I never felt I was qualified enough…
I never felt I knew enough for people to listen to me…

So I would just go into different communities and just watch while others would stand out, share and get ahead.

I thought the guy or gal who raised their hand first and asked the most questions was annoying to me. Like they were just doing that to get ahead. Like who does this person think he or she is?

And so…I would just look and see what would happen to those people who did all that to get noticed.

Almost every time, in almost every example…

  • They got noticed.
  • They got promoted.
  • They got special treatment.
  • They got to the important people.

I got nothing…no matter how hard I worked.

I was there still looking…

Sulking over how they are just sucking up to the Boss Man!

But in reality, they knew that taking the initiative of connecting with people helped them enhance their careers.  Their status would change by connecting with more people.

And this approach brought more people and more satisfaction to their lives as whole.

How great is it to call up someone who has the means to help you out immediately just because they know you. Life is good when you invite people like this into your life.

My idea of connecting with people was to use the

“Jack in the Box Approach”.

What is that you ask?

Well my life would like this…doo-do-doo-do-do-do-do-doo-do-doo…you know how the music goes…then at the end Surprise…!

“Here I am…World Famous Entrepreneur!”

“Now everyone will want to be my friend and connect with me!”

This doesn’t work.

Now that I’m breaking down these barriers, opening up to sharing, being the first to raise my hand and taking the initiative…things in my life are moving.

When you connect, people are there to help you. You have the support and it’s not as hard anymore trying to do everything yourself.

In Summary

Stop using the “Jack in the Box” approach. You don’t have to surprise people. In fact, it’s much better to let them know that you’re coming! Hint: Buzz Factor

So real change in your life can only be confirmed if you’re sharing and connecting with people just like you.  This is the glue to make it stick.

This year, stop the look and see act and get connected to a community and share. Contribute, help people and as a result get noticed.  There’s nothing wrong with it.

In fact, this where you really start living when you surround yourself with people that agree with you. What a concept huh?

How great is it to live with others who want to do the exact same things you want to do. This is living at its fullest!

Don’t feel like you’re the suck up person. If you’re genuine, people will know. If you’re not, people will know that too.

But the Look And See Approach dies this year for you. Make this change so you can truly live.
